England vs West Indies 2nd Test: Windies reserve players leaving no stones unturned in net session

The 2nd Test in Manchester started from July 16 as Jason Holder’s men are eager to eke out a draw at the least. Going 1-0 up after winning the Southampton Test, the Windies now have a chance to retain the Wisden Trophy.

While the players are striving hard on the pitch, the reserve players too are not keeping any stones unturned in their sessions. West Indies have suffered a couple of injury concerns and it would be absolutely important that the reserve players stay match fit.

The official Twitter handle of Windies cricket posted, “No days off for the reserve members of the #MenInMaroon squad! Another hard day of training in the nets, while WI also battle on the field #ENGvWI #WIReady

England vs West Indies Live: Gabriel, Joseph leaves field during play

West Indies quick Alzarri Joseph left the field during the afternoon session of the second day of the second Test at Emirates Old Trafford after suffering an injury during his 24th over.

Joseph, the pick of the tourists’ seamers in the game thus far, was just a single ball into his over when he pulled up and walked off the field.

Kraigg Brathwaite completed the over in his absence, but the news will be a concern to West Indies, who have found the going tough in the opening two days in Manchester.

Shannon Gabriel left the field with a muscular issue at a similar time on Thursday and was off the field again briefly on Friday afternoon.

The mounting injuries will pose a challenge to captain Jason Holder and head coach Phil Simmons, especially with another Test to come almost immediately after the conclusion of this second match.
