England vs West Indies 3rd Test: James Anderson join ranks of Kapil Dev, McGrath; achieves historic milestone

Veteran England pacer James Anderson, who was recalled to the English squad for the series decider against West Indies proved his worth with some impeccable bowling. The right-arm pacer struck on either side of the Tea Break to claim two of the four West Indies wickets so far.

After claiming the wicket of Brooks, Anderson entered the record books to become the highest wicket-taking English bowler against West Indies. Apart from the feat, he also joined the ranks of Kapil Dev and McGrath, who has 110 and 89 scalps respectively. Anderson currently stands third in the list with 87 wickets followed closely by Truman who has 86 wickets to his name.

Anderson took the scalps of Shai Hopes and Shamarh Brooks, putting a massive dent in the West Indies batting lineup. Anderson, coupled with Broad and Archer have looked deadly in the middle, with the latter two, sharing a wicket each yet.

Earlier, Roach, who had claimed the wickets of danger man Ben Stokes and Dom Sibley on Day 1, dismissed Chris Woakes early on the second day to achieve an incredible feat too. The West Indies quick became the first Caribbean cricketer to take 200 Test wickets in 26 years, since Curtly Ambrose in 1994. He is also the ninth overall Windies player to achieve the milestone.
