Eros Now, one of the fastest growing digital over-the-top (OTT) South Asian entertainment platforms, owned by Eros International Plc, has announced a strategic partnership with Smartron, a Sachin Tendulkar-backed India-based IoT startup, to provide its extensive entertainment repertoire to Smartron smartphone customers. The deal has been inked.
Eros Now will be the exclusive digital OTT service for entertainment content on all Smartron devices. Eros Now, as preferred partners, will provide its movies, television shows, music and regional content in different languages to Smartron users. Smartron will promote the partnership in its marketing campaigns, says an Indiantelevision.com report.

The smartphone market in India, which went past the 300 million user mark last year, is reportedly growing at 18%. The country is heading to become world’s second largest smartphone market in terms of active users.
