Valorant has taken the FPS world by storm, the amount of players that have moved from Tier 2 and Tier 1 of CS:GO to Valorant is quiet astounding. The reasons behind the switch are many, but the primary has to be the money to competition ratio.
Counter-Strike players that have switched from Valve’s shooter to Valorant esports make up 88% of the game’s top prize winners. The top ten teams in prize money for Riot’s ability-based tactical shooter are enjoying the skills of CSGO’s deep talent pool, 90% of them started from CS:GO.
The G2 squad of valorant has turned out to be Valorant’s best and most impressive team. At the same time G2’s CSGO team has been in shambles, compared to their previous performances.
G2 has won seven Valorant tournaments in a row, G2 Esports founder Carlos “ocelote” Santiago recently weighed in on G2’s early success in Riot’s first-person shooter in addition to giving his thoughts as to how Valorant is going to destroy CS:GO in terms of player base.
Which games do Valorant’s top players come from?
While CSGO is overwhelmingly the first stop for organizations looking to pick up fresh talent for Valorant’s quickly growing esports scene, Overwatch and Fortnite are also represented in the list. Overwatch has four former pro players among Valorant’s ten winningest teams, followed by Fortnite with two.

Valorant’s gunplay and mechanics are very similar to those found in CSGO. The spells from Agents add more diversity and variation to the game which can play to position you for a better shot. We do hope that CS:GO does not die out but certainly it’s a game to try to see if it is the best FPS shooter out there.
