The esports teams of Ligue 1 club AS Monaco and NBA franchisee Orlando Magic have announced an unprecedented partnership bringing a professional football and basketball outfit together.
NBA 2K League team Magic Gaming along with AS Monaco Esports Team, under the deal, will offer their fans specific and enriched content, strong interactions between their professional eSports while supporting both entities in their digital growth, exposure and business, with a strong commitment to digital engagement.
AS Monaco have said that their esports team, having footprints in NBA 2K, PES, Rocket League and GT Sports, will offer fans an opening on the US culture of gaming and a new kind of experience.
With this deal, AS Monaco have become the latest French football team to tap into foreign esports markets especially following Paris Saint-Germain’s partnership with Chinese esports organisation LGD Gaming to create Dota 2 team PSG.LGD. The club has lately joined eFootball.Pro esports league backed by Spanish football and Barcelona star Gerard Pique.
