Euro 2020: After a forced one-year delay, the European Championship is less than a month away. This edition of Euro is very special. For the first time ever the competition will be hosted by multiple cities. UEFA has listed 11 countries to host the tournament. Euro 2020: 5 legends who will play their last Euro 2020
The 36-year-old forward needs no introduction. One of the finest players ever in football history, he still packs a punch in front of the goal. He has already featured in four European championships and won the coemption once. Ronaldo is currently the joint all-time top scorer of the competition with 9 goals. He’ll be 40 by the time of the next edition.
The highest goal-scoring defender of the current generation, Ramos will lead the Spanish side maybe for the one last time. The 2008 Euro champion is currently 35, but is still a roadblock for strikers and can still score with set pieces. This will be his 4th appearance and by the time the next Euro arrives, he’ll be 2025.
The Croatian midfielder had done the (im)possible in 2018 by ending the Messi-Ronaldo duopoly at Ballon d’Or. One of the finest box-to-box midfielders, his presence of mind, defence-splitting passes and long-range shots, are still a spectacle to watch for. Just like his other Real Madrid teammates he too might call it a day for his country.
Neuer stunned everyone at the 2014 World Cup with his “sweeper-keeper” skills, which also helped him reach in the top 3 of Ballon d’Or race. Another 35 year old from the list, who might make way for the likes of Bernd Leno and Marc Andre Ter Stegen.
Like Ramos, he has an equal contribution, when it comes to serving both the nation and club. A warrior on the field, the 2006 World Cup winner is one of the toughest defenders. His team ended up as runners-up back in 2012 and the 36-year-old still has a lot to give.
