Euro 2020, North Macedonia vs Netherlands: Key Player 1

Denzel Dumfries (Netherlands)

No one predicted Dumfries to have the kind of impact he has had so far at Euro 2020. The PSV captain has excelled at right wing-back in the Netherlands’ system, scoring twice and playing a significant part in all of his team’s goals till now.

Ahead of the meeting with North Macedonia, Dumfries will be buoyed by his form as well as the fact that his next opponents have conceded the joint-highest amount of goals (5) in the competition.

As such, the Netherlands will be increasingly hopeful of Dumfries turning in another decisive performance.

Euro 2020, North Macedonia vs Netherlands: Key Player 2

Stole Dimitrievski (North Macedonia)

Despite the fact that North Macedonia have let in the most goals in the tournament, Dimitrievski has been more than just a bystander. The 27-year-old shot-stopper has produced the most number of saves (11) in the tournament.

Notably, Dimitrievski also saved a penalty against Ukraine in the last game. Considering how Netherlands are expected to put pressure on North Macedonia, the goalkeeper will definitely have to be at the peak of his powers to try and deal with the threat.

Euro 2020, North Macedonia vs Netherlands: Key Player 3

Memphis Depay (Netherlands)

After weeks of fuelling the transfer rumour mill, Depay has been officially announced as a Barcelona player. The Dutchman did find the back of the net from the penalty spot in the last game and will be looking to kick-on further in the tournament.

Unless Frank de Boer decides to hand him a rest heading into the knockout rounds, Depay is expected to wreak havoc against North Macedonia.

Euro 2020, North Macedonia vs Netherlands: Key Player 4

Ezgjan Alioski (North Macedonia)

The Leeds United full-back relishes every opportunity to foray forward. However, in his last game at Euro 2020, Alioski might just be too busy trying to scamper back and defend.

Dumfries is probably in the form of his life and could force Alioski on the back foot on Monday. It is certain the North Macedonian will tackle the challenge head on, but how successful he can be remains unclear.

Alioski scored against Ukraine in the last outing and will be hoping he can produce one more memorable display before signing off from his first ever major international tournament.

Euro 2020, North Macedonia vs Netherlands: Key Player 5

Frenkie de Jong (Netherlands)

De Jong is an absolute treat to watch whenever he enjoys time and space on the ball. As such, the meeting with North Macedonia could bring the best out of him.

It is no rocket science that North Macedonia love being the smash and grab merchants. But they also have this tendency of dropping their guard at times.

Since De Jong can pick a pass and dictate play from midfield, he will pose a significant threat to his counterparts. The Barcelona midfielder might also fancy contributing further up the pitch if he can get that kind of freedom.
