TN Panesar will head DSports in India. The former Hathway Digital video business CEO has been hired by the Discovery.
Back in February, infotainment broadcaster Discovery had announced its entry into the Sports broadcasting business in India in order to expand its reach in one of the fastest-growing economies in the world. DSports’ focus rests on sport like football, horse racing, rugby, motorsports and cycling.
Panesar, who had moved in to Hathway from Star India, leaves the organizer after a two-and-a-half-year stint.
Recently Dsports has partnered with Nodwin Gaming to showcase the esports tournament – ESL India Premiership. As part of the partnership Dsport has been showing 90 minutes of action every day, beginning July 19. The event broadcast from 2.30 to 4 pm will continue till December.
The broadcast will also be in fray for the Indian Premier League media rights, having bought the bid documents. August 28th is the last date for submission of the bid, which will also be decided the same day.
