Santa will run on Mumbai streets – age is no bar. The second edition of ‘Run Santa Run’ is giddying up the jingle horse. A first of a kind, theme based running event for the entire family is a fun run to bring family together amidst the festivities of a Christmas carnival.
The unique run is designed by Sports United is aimed at promoting a healthy and active lifestyle among children.
The event – an energizing run packed with various activities, kiddy rides, games, food stalls goodies and more – is slated for the 17 December this year at Gandhi Maidan in the Chembur suburb of Mumbai.
The event organisers are expecting a participation of over 5,000 people – children and adults together. The future plans include expanding the “fun-run” base to other cities as well.
“A unique of its kind event where we are encouraging children to take up physical activity at the same time adding a festive flavor to make it an exciting event to look forward to by the entire family. Our vision is to make this IP a multi-city event by taking it to other cities such as Pune, Goa and Nagpur in the near future,” said Siddharth Gupta, Founder of Sports United.
The event is also aiming to raise charity for the underprivileged kids through participation. The organisers have tied up with Make a Wish Foundation and a part of the proceedings will go for the charity.
The participants will be as a ‘Secret Santa’ as the money for the charity has been allocated from the registration fee.
The registration for the event is open and the price starts from Rs 525 for adults and children.
A child below 8 years of age must be accompanied by the parents or a guardian. The registration cost will include a Santa or an elf tee shirt for the run, complimentary entry to the carnival and an achievers medal from Santa Claus.
