French Open Quarterfinals – Barbora Krejcikova enters semifinals, defeats Coco Gauff in straight sets- USA’s teenage sensation Coco Gauff has lost the quarterfinals against Czechia’s Barbora Krejcikova in French Open 2021. The latter won the opening set in a tie-breaker and ended up winning the set by dropping just two points. The match ended 7-6 (8-6) and 6-3 in favour of Krejcikova.

2018 doubles champion Krejcikova will make her Roland Garros singles SF debut after overcoming Coco Gauff.

Coco Gauff will be devastated, particularly with the way she went away after missing 5 set points & unsuccessfully serving for the first set. But she made Krejcikova work to close out the win, & it’s still been a tremendous clay season in an incredible young career.

Krejcikova, who is ranked no. 33, reached the quarter after beating Kristyna Pliskova 5-7 6-4 6-2, Ekaterina Alexandrova 6-2 6-3, Elina Svitolina 6-3 6-2 and Sloane Stephens 6-2 6-0.

On the other hand, Coco Gauff, who is ranked 25th, reached the quarterfinals after defeating Aleksandra Krunic 7-6(13-11) 6-4, Qiang Wang 6-3 7-6(7-1), Jennifer Brady 6-1 0-0 ret. and Ons Jabeur 6-3 6-1.
