Energy drink brand Gatorade’s new TVC has a perfect timing, just like the World Champion shuttler PV Sindhu’s precision on a badminton court. The release of the commercial video while celebrating Sindhu’s success at the BWF World Championship in Basel, also coincides with the launch of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Fit India Movement for a fitter, healthier India.
The video celebrates the success of Gatorade’s first and only brand ambassador’s graduation from silver to the gold in the BWF World Championships. The ace shuttler now has two bronze, two silver and a gold under her belt from the BWF World Championship.
As India’s badminton ace PV Sindhu rose to the top in the sport, Gatorade has released a new digital film to commemorate the victory of its brand ambassador. Sindhu has re-written history by becoming the first Indian to win a gold at the BWF World Championships.
The video in synch with the brand philosophy ‘Sweat More’ digitally highlights how hard work and sweat on a badminton court results in Sindhu’s transformation from silver to gold.
Sindhu has been endorsing the PepsiCo’s energy drink Gatorade as its India brand ambassador since 2017.
Sindhu last week has created history by becoming the first Indian to win the BWF championship as she trounced Japan’s Nozomi Okhura 21-7, 21-7 in just 38 minutes in a one-sided final.
Gatorade has been enabling Sindhu’s performance since she came on board as brand ambassador in 2017. Sindhu has also visited the Gatorade Sports Science Institute (GSSI) at Baltimore, USA, and undergone the ‘Sweat Test’ there. The findings of the test were used to work on her hydration, training and match-day nutrition needs to power her through the World Championship.
“I congratulate P.V Sindhu for her win at the BWF World Championship on behalf of the entire Gatorade team. We have watched her train rigorously to take herself from a silver to the gold and it makes us a proud partner in optimizing her performance by helping her maintain the right fluid balance. P.V. Sindhu truly personifies the spirit of the brand through her determination and winning attitude.,” says Tarun Bhagat, Director-Marketing, Hydration and Cola, PepsiCo India.
