Geneva Open 2021: Pablo Andujar stuns Roger Federer, defeats Swiss giant in three sets- In a shocking development, Pablo Andujar has defeated 20-time grand slam champion Roger Federer in a thrilling three-set contest. The Spaniard won the contest 6-4, 4-6 and 6-4. Andujar, who has an excellent record on clay court, won the opening set and made a comeback in the third set. Federer bounced back in the second set but eventually ended up losing the contest in the last set.
Federer saved two match points on his own serve, but the third ended with a wayward forehand under pressure on the baseline.
Andujar put his hands to his head after clinching victory and exchanged an almost apologetic smile with Federer at the net.
Andujar had set the big clash against Swiss player by defeating Australia’s Jordon Thompson in his opening round match of Geneva Open. The match had ended 6-0, 6-4 in favour of the Spaniard.

The 29-year-old would have liked to get plenty of matches under his belt before resuming his quest for a record 21st grand slam title but his hopes were dashed by Andrujen.
