Good News! Vinesh Phogat recovers from COVID-19, will remain in isolation as precautionary measure

Indian wrestler and Khel Ratna awardee Vinesh Phogat has announced that she has recovered from covid. The Tokyo Olympics-bound wrestler was tested positive last week. She took to Twitter to confirm that she has now recovered but will remain in isolation. “I underwent a second COVID-19 test yesterday and am happy to report that I have received a negative result. While this is great news, I will be remaining in isolation as a precautionary measure. A big thank you to everyone for your prayers”.

The world medallist was one of the first wrestlers who raised concerns about health safety when the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) had planned to hold a national camp for women wrestlers in Lucknow. She had even requested WFI to let her skip the training.
