The HERO Indian Super League (ISL) has partnered microblogging site Twitter to Tweet video highlights in regional languages Hindi, Bengali, and Malayalam. This is a first for a sports league in India. ISL is launching a host of innovative interactive fan experiences on Twitter to enhance the football experience this #HeroISL.
Fans will enjoy premium video highlights (#ISLRecap and #ISLMoments), a special Twitter emoji for the ISL trophy #LetsFootball, match recaps with Twitter Moments and more #OnlyOnTwitter experiences.
As part of the deal, the football fans in different part of the country can watch match video highlights in four regional languages. This kind of foray is first of its kind for any league in the country. Fans will be able to see highlights in Hindi, Bengali, and Malayalam along with the English language clips. The fun continues off the field this season, as @IndSuperLeague brings fans closer to all the behind the scenes banter with the #ISLInsider. This is a video series featuring personalized player videos, created using the Twitter Cam.
Twitter head of sports partnerships Asia Pacific Aneesh Madani said, “Twitter brings sports fans closer to the action and this football season things are going to get even better. An ISL spokesperson added, “In a first-of-its-kind season for football in India, we’re bringing exciting new experiences to fans on Twitter. We’re thrilled to be the first Indian sports league to bring our Twitter videos to fans in four different Indian languages and help them quickly catch up with the latest recaps using Twitter Moments. Fans can also participate in conversations about the league with #LetsFootball and unlock an exclusive Twitter emoji.”
Not only match highlights, fans through this innovative partnership can catch up on all top tweets and fan chatter from each match. The only thing they have to do is, Follow the @IndSuperLeague account for a match recap using Twitter Moments every night of the season!
