Every cricketer has dreamed to make a cut in the World Cup squad at least once, but for some cricketers it remains a dream.

India have given many greatest cricketers of all time to the cricketing world. In India cricket is something more than a sport, it’s a religion. They have clinched the title twice, once in 1983 and the other time most recently in 2011 and have made it to the semi-finals on multiple occasions. Murali Kartik is a former Indian cricketer who sporadically represented the India national cricket team from 2000 to 2007. He is a specialist slow left-arm orthodox bowler known for his loopy trajectory and ability to spin and bounce but has found international selection blocked during his prime years by the presence of Anil Kumble and Harbhajan Singh.

Cheteshwar Pujara is an Indian international cricketer who plays Test cricket for Indian national team and represents Saurashtra in domestic cricket. Such enthusiasm for the longer format of the game has distanced Pujara from ODIs. However, the fact remains that Pujara has not made a great impression from his short ODI career

Amit Mishra’s international presence being blocked by the Harbhajan Singh and Anil Kumble enjoying their halcyon days. Nevertheless, Kumble’s injury proved to be Mishra’s gain as the latter made his test debut against Australia in the second Test at Mohali. Surprisingly, he emerged as the leading wicket-taker in that match as India marched to an emphatic victory.

The right-arm fast-medium bowler, Ishant Sharma’s international career was plagued with injuries that did not help his cause. Though the lanky pacer still has an important role in India’s Test squad but lost his spot in the ODI and T20I squad to the new pacer duo Jasprit Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

The aggressive right-hand batsman who play in the lower middle order, V. V. S. Laxman had the ability to play the match winning and match saving innings. In his whole cricketing career, he featured in the 134 test and smashed a total of 8781 run with a batting average of 45.97. He is among those players who have played more than  100 test but could not make in the World Cup squad for a single season.
