ICC Meeting : Women Cricket World Cup in New Zealand postponed to 2022

In an major setback for women cricket,the next 50-over Women’s World Cup has been postponed until 2022. It was originally scheduled to be held in New Zealand between February 6 and March 7 2021.

 Although the International Cricket Council is yet to issue an official statement around it, but according to the information coming from the ongoing ICC Meeting, the Women World Cup will now be played in 2022.

Meanwhile the tussle between BCCI and Cricket Australia to host the T20 World Cup in 2021 is over. In the ICC Board meeting today, BCCI finally prevailed over the ICC Board. 
 
India will finally host the T20 World Cup in 2021 as BCCI retains its hosting rights while Australia, who were supposed to host the tournament in 2022, will now host the postponed edition in 2022.
The decision comes after the International Cricket Council (ICC) Board met via teleconference on Friday, InsideSport can confirm.

The next 50-over World Cup will also be played in India. The ICC, while postponing the T20 World Cup in Australia from October-November 2020 to 2022 last month, had not specified the venues for the 2021 and 2022 marquee events at the time.
