Pakistan and England will meet today (Friday) in the 12th encounter of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup. The match will be played at the Manuka Oval, Canberra.
Both sides are on two points, but England have played a match more than the Asian side. England did not have a good start to the tournament as they lost to South Africa by six wickets but decimated rookies Thailand in their next match.
Pakistan on the other hand, had a decent start to their campaign. They had restricted West Indies to 124 and chased it down without breaking a sweat.
The last time these two sides met in a T20I series, Pakistan were defeated 0-3. However, the Women in Green will carry confidence from their win in the tournament opener.
England has a strong batting unit in Amy Jones, Dannielle Wyatt, Heather Knight and Tammy Beaumont and are expected to do well with the ball as well. Despite losing a match, England are on top of Pool B points table on better net run rate even as they are on par with Pakistan with two points each.
The pitch at the Manuka Oval has traditionally been helpful to batters, and both England and Australia have put on big scores in recent days.
