India-Pakistan match tickets in the ICC World Cup 2019 had the most buyers in spite of the highest price tag. The tickets for the match on June 16 at Old Trafford, Manchester, were sold out within 48 hours after the start of the online sales. The maximum number of tickets are bought by fans in India.
The demand has been even more than the match between England and Australia, ICC World Cup 2019 hosts biggest cricketing rivalry. The ICC World Cup 2019 will be played from May 30 to July 14 in England and Wales. Hosts England will take on South Africa in the tournament opener on May 30 at the Oval, London. Nothing in the ten-team World Cup matches the euphoria and commercial potential of the India-Pakistan match.
The corporate sales and business development manager at Cricket Lancashire Dan Whitehead has reportedly said that the atmosphere during the India-Pakistan clash will be louder than a India-England clash.
“It is definitely going to be huge. Last year when India played against England in a T20 match here, it was a gorgeous sunny day and the crowd was predominantly Indian. The stadium was painted with Indian colours and the Bharat Army was very noisy. It was a great game of cricket and India was far too good and the atmosphere was amazing and it’s going to be even louder for the India-Pakistan Game,” said Dan Whitehead, Corporate Sales and Business Development Manager at Cricket Lancashire.
“Because of the huge demand, we created more packages and at this very moment, we have only 200 packages left for those who would like to still make it for the big game,” said Whitehead.
Bharat Army will also organise a concert in Manchester on the eve of the India-Pakistan match. Punjabi singer Guru Randhawa will reportedly perform at the event.
India have not lost any of their previous ICC World Cup games to Pakistan and start firm favourites yet again.
The India-Pakistan match tickets have the highest price tag with the lowest denomination being ₹ 77,039.
