ICC WTC Finals – Virat Kohli vs Ajinkya Rahane’s Teams: India’s wicket keeper batsman Rishabh Pant starred on the first day of 4-day intra-squad practice match between Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane’s team. Though no official scoring of the game is available – but in the video posted by BCCI, Pant is seen raising his bat at the end of the first day’s play, giving enough indication that he had a good time while batting.

ICC WTC Finals – Virat Kohli vs Ajinkya Rahane’s Teams: The 4-day practice match is the main preparation for Kohli’s men who haven’t played any cricket for the last one month after the IPL 2021 was suspended on May 4.

The 4 day intra-squad match is a closed-door affair. It comes just two days after Team India began practice in Southampton.

It will also give the team a much-needed competitive feel before all the important ICC WTC Final against Williamson & Co who currently are busy playing in a test series against the hosts England.

It is obvious that with two tests under belt, Kiwis will be completely acclimatize to the English conditions. This is the reason the team management decided to play the INTRA-SQUAD game to simulate the match conditions.

ICC WTC Final – Few Questions in front of Team management as they get ready for World Test Championship finals

Team management via this game is giving opportunity to every player to get acclimatize to the English conditions where ball swings and moves the most. Also it is a last opportunity for the team captain Virat Kohli and coach Ravi Shastri to decide on the team composition for the finals against New Zealand.

The 4 day practice game may help the team management to some extent to get the right playing XI for the ICC WTC Finals
