ICC WTC Finals: Sky Sports to live broadcast India vs Black Caps in New Zealand
While Star Sports had the rights to broadcast the ICC WTC Finals worldwide, it decided not to due to monetary reasons. ICC through a tender chose Sky Sports as the broadcasting partner for the one-off Test finale with its digital platforms live streaming the final in New Zealand.
“It made sense for Star not to worry about selling the rights of the one-off match in none-too major cricket markets where their team is not playing. Apart from India, Star will have the rights in Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh, the biggest markets in world cricket,” a person in the know-how told InsideSport.
