The IMG agency has renewed its live broadcast rights deal with English Premier League across central and eastern Europe, as well as central Asia. The deal grants IMG the authority to license Premier League media rights in 26 markets across Europe and Asia.

The new agreement kicks in from the 2019-2020 season and will run until the end of the 2021-2022 top-flight campaign.

As part of the deal, IMG will license the rights to a range of broadcasters and media companies across 26 markets in the regions.

The agreement covers rights to the Premier League in Bosnia, Hungary and Serbia, as well as Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, among others.

Commenting on the deal, IMG’s senior vice president, Victor Blundell, said: “The Premier League continues to be the most sought after and exciting football property for the overseas market.

“There is great interest in these regions, not only because the Premier League features so many star names, but also because a number of players from these countries are playing for teams in the English top flight.”

Paul Molnar, Premier League director of broadcasting, added: “IMG is our current licensee for these rights and does an excellent job making the Premier League available across the region through partnerships with a range of broadcasters and media companies.”
