Ind vs Aus ODI series: Team India is all set to lock horns with Australia in the opening ODI of the three-match series in Sydney on Friday. This series also kicks off the start of international cricket this summer in Australia. India are slotted to play 3 ODIs, 3 T20Is, and 4 Tests in a gruelling 2-month long tour.

Team India returns to the international arena: After a break of almost nine months and another month spent dissecting team selection, India are set to stage a return to international cricket when they take on Australia in Sydney on Friday. Virat Kohli and co. last played in February in New Zealand where they were thrashed 3-0 in ODI series.

Return of crowd: The ODI at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Friday, will also be the first time that men’s cricket will see spectators in stadium since March when international cricket had come to a halt following the coronavirus outbreak. The first two matches of the three-matches at the SCG will be played at 50 per cent crowd capacity while the third ODI at Canberra will be played at 65 per cent crowd capacity.

Tribute to late Dean Jones: The Indian and Australian cricketers will wear black armbands and observe a minute’s silence ahead of the first ODI on Friday in honour of Dean Jones, who died during the IPL in September. It will be the first time that late Jones will receive an official tribute at international circuit.

The former Australia batsman, who had represented his country in 52 Tests and 164 ODIs, was in Mumbai as part of IPL official broadcaster’s commentary panel when he died on September 24 following a cardiac arrest.
