Ind vs Aus 3rd Test: The battle between Pat Cummins and Cheteshwar Pujara has intensified further after he sent the Indian batman back in third Test in Sydney. It is the fourth time Cummins has dismissed Pujara in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
The Indian right-handed batsman was playing at 50 — his first of the series and slowest half-century in the career — when Tim Paine decided to hand the ball to Australia’s spearhead of pace battery.
Cummins had kept Pujara in check in previous matches and continued with the same plan. In the 88th over, with an impeccable line kept bowling in that channel around off and forced the set Indian batsman to make a mistake. It was a short of length ball that bounced a but more. The line forced Pujara to play at it. But the ball trimmed the glove and was taken comfortable by Paine.

It would be interesting to see how the rivalry unfurls in the second innings.
Meanwhile, Australia had claimed the session before lunch. Ajinkya Rahane and Pujara started slowly with the idea being to grind out the opposition but Cummins’ relentless broke that partnership and Hanuma Vihari had gifted his wicket by going for a suicidal run. Rishabh Pant looked positive and gave India the much needed impetus in the innings.
