Ind vs Aus 3rd Test: Sydney Cricket Ground turns pink to celebrate Jane McGrath Day: The Sydney Cricket Ground on Saturday turned pink to celebrate Jane McGrath Day as a tradition before the start of third day of the third Test between India and Australia.

Originally named Ladies’ Day, the Pink Test was renamed Jane McGrath Day and is celebrated to raise money for the Jane McGrath Foundation which works in raising awareness for breast cancer.This is the 13th year of the Pink Test.

“A day dedicated in honour of Jane McGrath, in support of those experiencing breast cancer! Two hearts

“Ahead of the third #AUSvIND Vodafone Pink Test, a very special group of people unfurled the iconic silk in front of the stand named in Jane McGrath’s honour!,” Cricket Australia posted in a tweet before the start of play.

Former Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar had donated his autographed Test jersey which will be auctioned. Interestingly, the jersey is from his last Test before retiring.

The McGrath Foundation was created in 2005 after Jane, wife of former Australia fast bowler Glenn McGrath, was diagnosed with breast cancer, and the mission of the foundation was based on her experiences with her nurses at that time.

Jane, who was born in England, died of the disease in June 2008.
