Ind vs Aus: Vengsarkar pleads send Rahul Dravid to Australia: India’s disastrous show in the first day/night pink-ball Test at Adelaide has made ex India skipper Dilip Vengsarkar wary of the situation.
Indian team registered their worst ever performance in Test history, surpassing their lowest total of 42 when Virat Kohli’s men were bundled out for a trivial 36 runs in Adelaide.
Vengsarkar pleads send Rahul Dravid to Australia
After India got skittled out for their lowest total of 36 in a Test innings, it prompted former India skipper Dilip Vengsarkar to come up with a suggestion for BCCI president and former India skipper Sourav Ganguly: Send batting legend Rahul Dravid, currently the head of the National Cricket Academy (NCA), to Australia immediately.
“The BCCI must rush Dravid to Australia to help the team. No one can guide the batsmen better on how to play the moving ball in those conditions. His presence will be a huge boost to the Indian team in the nets. In any case, the NCA has been shut due to Covid for the past nine months, leaving him with little to do,” Vengsarkar told TOI on Saturday.
“The Board can make a better use of Dravid by utilising his services to help the national team, which will be without skipper Virat Kohli from now (last three Tests).”
