IND vs ENG 2nd T20Adil Rashid vs Virat Kohli: As India and England gear up for the 2nd T20 today evening, the match-up between Adil Rashid vs Virat Kohli can decide the fate of the match. England’s leg-spinner Rashid has dismissed Kohli for a record 7 times in international cricket and he is targeting his 8th victory against the Indian captain. According to Rashid, if he can take Kohli’s wicket once again and make the crowd quiet to win the battle against India once again.

“Before the wicket of Virat, the crowd was very, very loud. The Indian fans are very passionate, so it’s nice to get the big players out early doors to keep the crowd quiet. You can actually hear yourselves talk to each other. That’s not something you can generally do in India, will target the same on Sunday,” said Rashid.

IND vs ENG 2nd T20 – Adil Rashid vs Virat Kohli – Before Friday’s game, Rashid had dismissed Kohli in ODI’s and Test matches a combined 6 times. He got the better of Kohli 7th time in the 1st T20 and now targeting his 8th victory against him.
“It’s always nice to get a world-class player out, and maybe get him a couple of times as well,” Rashid said ahead of the 2nd T20 against India at the Motera Stadium.
Rashid had been practising with the new ball ahead of the match by bowling to Jason Roy. For the first time in 53 T20 internationals, he opened the bowling. Figures of one for 14 from three overs clearly suggest that England’s ploy against India will be simple – Rashid to once again open England’s bowling & attempt to unsettle India.

“Bowling with the new ball is new for me now (he did so a decade back for Yorkshire and in Australia), something I have been working on for the past couple of days. Hope I can carry on with that regardless of the situation, whether it’s the first six overs middle, or back, I am always looking to develop and work hard.

“That’s something I have been doing in the nets, bowling to batsmen with the new ball, in case I am needed, I am really focussed on every part of the game,” Rashid added.

IPL 2021: Adil Rashid further says, disappointed with the IPL snub but was expecting it

However, the man who has dismissed Kohli 7 times wasn’t good to be picked in the IPL auction this year. Rashid signed up for the IPL 2021 auction which was held in February with a base price of Rs 1.5 crore. While he made the shortlist of 292 players, there were no takers for the England leg-spinner.

“I wouldn’t say disappointing, obviously there are a lot of spinners out there, India also got their own local spinners, so I wasn’t really expecting my self to be picked,” Rashid said on the eve of the 2nd T20I.

“It would be nice to get these deals but like I said, with these tournaments, you put your name forward and hope a teams pick you… that’s how it works with the IPL or any other competitions,” Rashid said.
