He is only behind Pakistan’s Javed Miandad who took 35 innings to achieve the record. In terms of total runs tally against India, Joe Root is currently at 7th behind former Australia captain Michael Clarke who scored 2049 runs. For England, he is currently the 2nd highest scorer in Test cricket against India behind Alastair Cook, who scored 2,431 runs against India.
