In a video shared by BCCI on social media, the entire dressing Indian room broke with thunderous applause just when Rahul returned after the end of Day’s 1 play. IND vs ENG 2nd Test: The 2 two-minute clip commenced with KL Rahul getting his name etched on the honorary board at Lord’s. Soon, the clip saw showed Rohit Sharma giving a hug and pat to his opening partner KL Rahul as the two stitched a massive 126 run opening partnership for India.

Opening the innings for India alongside Rohit Sharma, Rahul was off to a slow start. Soon he switched gears after Rohit Sharma’s dismissal and took to some aggressive mode.

He lent monumental hands alongside Indian skipper Virat Kohli as the duo ensured a 117 run stand between them. Tactfully resisting the swinging deliveries outside the off, Rahul returned unbeaten on 127 runs at the stumps of Day 1. In his knock, Rahul smashed 12 fours and one six and maintained a strike rate of 51.21.
