The left-handed player walked the pitch after Ajinkya Rahane’s wicket when India were 296 for the loss of five wickets. Pant jammed little partnership with Virat Kohli and then aggregated 100-run stand with Shardul Thakur.
Soon after Thakur’s wicket, Pant was dismissed in a catch and bowled by England off-spinner Moeen Ali. Pant stepped out to play the big shot and wanted to go over the bowler’s head but didn’t get the right shot.
Pant finally scores a belated half century but loses his wicket immediately after to Moeen.
