When asked what is the reason behind him playing with the straight bat and how did he get success in Test cricket with it. “I think playing with the straight bat is the key as it gives you more runs. It swings and seam a lot in here. So for batsmen, it is important to play with a straight bat and score runs. In recent times my batting has also improved. I have discussed this with our batting coach and the throwdown expert and they also suggested I to play with a straight bat whenever the opportunity comes “
