It was back in 1971 when BS Chandrasekhar’s 6/38 crippled England 2nd innings and India chased down 173 to win at Oval for the first time. In between India have drawn five and lost the last three of them with huge margins. But Virat Kohli & Co subdued the conditions and managed to turn around despite posting just 191 in the first innings. In the end, Jasprit Bumrah’s magical spell after lunch and Umesh Yadav’s 3/60 handed India a 157-run victory.

Jasprit Bumrah 6-3-6-2 spell: The 6-3-6-2 figure may resemble a tennis score but it was just an example of Jasprit Bumrah’s brilliance. Resuming at 131/2, Haseeb Hameed and Joe Root faced Jasprit Bumrah’s wrath at Oval. After Jadeja sent Hameed back, in an excellent spell of reverse swing bowling six overs, Jasprit Bumrah cleaned up Ollie Pope and Jonny Bairstow, breaking England’s backbone as the hosts lost the next eight wickets for just 79 runs and India won the match by 157 runs.
