Ind vs Eng ODI: Netizens hail England batsmen for making 336-run chase look easy

Ind vs Eng ODI: It was India’s match to lose and they did after posting 336 runs, batting first. But the huge total did not save them as England batters, especially Jonny Bairstow and Ben Stokes, crushed India bowlers to win the 2nd ODI in Pune by six wickets. Their efforts earned a lot of praise on Twitter while India’s decision to not let Hardik Pandya bowl was criticised.

Aakash Chopra – If Hardik isn’t going to bowl, India will have to take some really tough decisions in the final ODI. Can’t possibly go into a game with just 5 bowlers. #IndvEng

Michael Vaughan – Today should be a lesson to India … Playing it safe for 40 overs with Bat might cost them in a World Cup at home in 2 yrs … they have enough power & depth to get scores of 375 + on flat wickets … England leading the way with this approach …

Suresh Raina – Congrats @englandcricket ! Chasing 336 is never easy, but @benstokes38and @jbairstow21 showed us some of the most audacious power-hitting we’ve seen in a long time. With 1-1, the decider would be exciting. All the best to Team India in the decider! #INDvENG

Wasim Jaffer – England were phenomenal today. Especially @jbairstow21and
@benstokes38. Well done to them on sticking to their aggressive approach despite the hiccup in the first odi. Super Sunday ahead Star-struck #INDvENG

VVS Laxman – Absolute carnage this from Bairstow and Stokes. Power hitting of the highest quality. Lot to ponder for Team India. Using only 5 bowlers against this batting lineup too risky?? Series nicely poised. #INDvENG
