IND vs ENG: Virat Kohli completes 1000 Test runs in England but wait to end century drought continues, fails after good start: While the pendulum has started oscillating for Indian skipper Virat Kohli, it is still not operating in its full swing. Recently, in India’s second innings at Oval against England, he missed his well-deserved half-century after he was outplayed Moeen Ali on 44 runs. With this contribution, Kohli managed to complete his 1000 Test runs in England but continues to wait to end his century drought.

Virat Kohli looked in fine touch on the batting-friendly turf at Oval. He had earlier jammed a 59-run partnership with Ravindra Jadeja to accelerate India’s lead. However, just when he pressed the forward button on his innings, he was outplayed by Moeen Ali.

In a delivery outside off, Kohli went straight with the angle anticipating some turn. However, the ball instead pushed forward and found the edge and to hand a simple catch for Overton at slip. He smashed 44 runs from 96 deliveries that included seven fours.
