IND VS NZ Live: New Zealand’s body attack on India, Pujara & Gill get hit on helmets – New Zealand bowlers Kyle Jamieson and Neil Wagner are bowling on the body line of the Indian batters in the final of the World Test Championship here at Southampton. Jamieson’s dangerous bouncer hit India opener, Shubhman Gill, on the helmet while number three batsman Cheteshwar Pujara was hit by Neil Wagner’s bouncer.

IND VS NZ Live: Gill vs Jamieson

India opener Shubman Gill on Saturday impressed as he went on to score 28 runs off 64 balls. Along with Rohit, he ensured his stay at the crease last till the first 24 overs. Unfortunately, the youngster didn’t last too long after getting hit on the helmet by a speedy delivery of 135 kmph by Kyle Jamieson under challenging overcast conditions in Southampton. Gill suffered a blow on the helmet during the 17th over as he failed to go out of the way of the ball. Mohammad Siraj and the medical staff immediately rushed in for a concussion test. He continued to bat but looked in discomfort managing just 5 runs off 19 balls after getting struck on the helmet.

IND VS NZ Live: Pujara vs Wagner

In the 37th over of the innings, Pujara was hit by a dangerous bouncer by Neil Wagner. The soft protection on the back was ripped off with the bouncer. Pujara was shaping up to pull, but the ball hit the lid flush. The Indian physio runs out immediately. However, Pujara did not suffer any injury. Wagner went to Pujara and checked if he is alright. Pujara was dismissed within four overs of the incident. He failed to score a single run during his stay at the crease after being hit.

IND VS NZ Live: Bodyline bowling by New Zealand

After failing to take a wicket in the first hour of the game New Zealand pacers changed their game plan from pitching up to bowling short. The short ball is the strength of India opener Rohit Sharma so they did not change the plan against him but Gill was tested against the short ball. After his wicket Pujara who is also not very confident playing pull shot was smelling leather. And in the end, he was also dismissed.
