Anirban Lahiri narrowly secured his berth for his second successive Olympic Games when he bagged the last spot in the Tokyo Games rankings for men. He is placed at 340th position and qualified for the Tokyo Olympics as India’s highest-ranked golfer. The golfer has seven Asian tour wins, and two European tour wins to his name, and not to forget, he was part of the silver medal-winning team at the 2006 Asian Games.
Udayan Mane made it to to the Tokyo Olympics after Argentine Emiliano Grillo withdrew from the games. He is currently ranked at 354th and qualified for the Olympics with the withdrawal of Argentine Emiliano Grillo who was ranked world number 74. Only top-60 golfers qualify for the Olympics, and he was the reserve player behind Gillo, so Mane grabbed the vacant spot. The golfer is also an 11-time winner on the PGTI.
Aditi Ashok is the only Indian female golfer at Tokyo Olympics. She qualified for the Olympics after coming in 45th place on the Tokyo Games rankings for women. The golfer has been part of the golf tours such as LGPA and the Ladies European Tour (LET), which are considered the biggest golf tours in women’s circuits. Tokyo Olympics will be her second Olympic appearance after first one at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
