Now, Kuldeep Yadav will also represent India in England in Tests series as the team for the first three games of the five-match series is named. Kuldeep Yadav has been named in the 18-member Indian Test squad which also has veteran tweakers  R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja.

The All-India Senior Selection Committee met in Leeds to pick the Indian Team squad for the first three Tests of the upcoming 5-match Test series against England has named two wicketkeepers – Dinesh Karthik and Rishabh Pant – for the Test series. Rohit Sharma is the most notable omission. Jaspreet Bumrah returns to international cricket after missing the T20 international series and the One-Day International series against hosts England due to an injury. Bumrah will be available for selection from the second Test onwards. 

The Indian Test squad (for the first 3 Tests against England) : Virat Kohli (Captain), Shikhar Dhawan, KL Rahul, M Vijay, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane (vice-captain), Karun Nair, Dinesh Karthik (wicket-keeper), Rishabh Pant (wicket-keeper), R Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Ishant Sharma, Mohd. Shami, Umesh Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Shardul Thakur.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who aggravated a lower back condition in the 3rd ODI against England on Tuesday,  is being assessed by the BCCI medical team and a call on his inclusion in the Indian Test squad will be made soon.

India start their five-Test campaign in England with the first game at Edgbaston, Birmingham from August 1. The second Test will be played at the Lord’s from August 9 to 13 while the third Test is slate for Trent Bridge, Nottingham, from August 18.

Meanwhile, the committee has also selected the Board President XI team that is scheduled to play a three-day warm-up game against South Africa ‘A’ in Belgaum from July 30. The team will be led by wicketkeeper batsman Ishan Kishan.
