Viewer traditionally has an unparalleled interest in India-Pakistan rivalry. This passion is ignited further with thoughtful campaigns, which result in this kind of records,” says television and media rights veteran Ashish Chadha, CEO, Sporty Solutionz.

Broadcaster STAR Sports has televised the match on its four channels with Hindi and English commentary and then DD’s free to air transmission also added to the viewership numbers.

A Star India spokesperson said, “ICC Champions Trophy 2017 has been an impressive event in terms of scale, reach and following. With the India-Pakistan match setting a new viewership record on the Star Sports network, becoming the highest rated ODI match in BARC history, this edition of the CT17 has validated that there is nothing bigger than cricket for Indian audiences.”
