Though their was discussion about inclusion of Mohammed Siraj in the bowling line up in place of Ishant Sharma – but lanky Indian pacer was persited because of his big match experience.

India Playing XI – ICC WTC Final: As for pacers, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami were automatic choice in English conditions and Ishant Sharma was preferred in place of Mohammed Siraj on his immense experience.
India decided to field two spinners as the pitch will also have something for both pacers and spinners. The pitch curator for Ageas Bowl, Simon Lee told ESPNCricinfo that the pitch will have “pace, bounce and carry” on the first three days with spinners getting a bit of assistance in the last two.
