Ranjana Mangla has joined Star Sports as Vice-President for Emerging Sports. The veteran media sales, marketing and PR professional moves in from India Today where she was the National Revenue Head for the Group Network channels.
Ranjana has been a broadcast industry professional for over a decade and a half. This will be her second stint with the Star India network where she has also served in the past.
Ranjana as a marketing, PR and ad sales professional has served India’s leading media organisations like TV Today Network, Discovery Jeet, NDTV (Life Style and Imagine) and Dainik Bhaskar Group. She has been a Vice-President, Sales. She has also been a Director, Ad Sales India, with Discovery Jeet.
Sports has been the driver for Star India’s growth with the high-value acquisitions like the BCCI and the Indian Premier League. Star India also the major stake holder in the Pro Kabaddi League through Mashal Sports, the entity with Star India having the major ownership stake. Star Sports besides holding the rights for the Indian Super League, I-League, Super Cup, Premier League, Bundesliga, Badminton World Federation events, Ultimate Table Tennis, and various other international media rights also has an association with the Premier Badminton League that goes beyond media rights.
