India tour of England: Good news for Virat Kohli & Co, Ajinkya Rahane, Rishabh Pant practice in Durham ahead of opening Test; What comes a piece of good news for Virat Kohli-led India, Ajinkya Rahane is looking good despite his hamstring problem on his road to recovery. On Tuesday, he was seen practicing with the rest of the squad. Rishabh Pant, who is coming out of COVID-19, is also looking set to play the opening Test for India that begins on August 4. India will be hoping that the two players get to their full fitness as India looks to start on a positive note in the opening encounter against England.

During the warm-up fixture, Rahul had donned the wicketkeeping gloves as well because Rishabh Pant and Wriddhiman Saha were unavailable because of Covid-19 protocols.

Apart from the above, India skipper Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Mayank Agarwal, Cheteshwar Pujara, and KL Rahul were also seen practicing in Durham ahead of the Test opener at Trent bridge.

Rahul, in particular, had played his last Test back in 2019 against West Indies. During India’s tour of England in 2018, Rahul had played a knock of 149 at The Oval and this knock had come on the back of some poor scores in the earlier Tests.

Meanwhile, What comes as the latest jolt to the India senior team’s plan of injury replacements for the upcoming Test series, Prithvi Shaw and SuryaKumar Yadav’s tour of England is in jeopardy after Krunal Pandya tested positive for COVID-19. Both the BCCI, SLC are completely clueless about how Covid-19 entered BIO-BUBBLE of the Indian team. The two teams are currently in isolation and the match has been postponed to Wednesday.
