India Tour of England: Newcomer Arzan Nagwaswalla reveals Virat Kohli, Zaheer Khan’s message after first meeting- India’s newcomer Arzan Nagwaswalla, who is in England as a standby player for the India tour of England, has revealed India skipper Virat Kohli’s message after reaching the UK.

“When I met him for the first time, he asked – ‘ready?’ I said yes. He smiled and patted me and said – ‘all the best, we will have a great time,” Arzan Nagwaswalla told The Times of India.

The youngster from Gujarat is excited to bowl at Kohli and Rohit Sharma and help them prepare for the WTC Final.

“I am really excited to bowl to Virat bhai.  He (Virat) has played numerous match-winning knocks for the team. Bowling to Virat bhai is tough, but I am excited,” Arzan Nagwaswalla added.

He is also looking forward to the ball with his statemate Jasprit Bumrah and the likes of Ishant Sharma and Mohd Shami. Nagwaswalla further stated that he has idolized former India pacer, Zaheer Khan. He said that he used to download Zaheer’s bowling videos and tried to learn from them. His dream of meeting Zaheer Khan finally came true when he was picked as a net bowler by Mumbai Indians in IPL 2021.

“Meeting Zaheer sir at Mumbai Indians was a dream come true for me. I was so excited and waited for a couple of days for him. When he joined us, I met him and told him that he is an inspiration and told him about the collection of his videos (bowling) I have. He patted me and hugged me. He said ‘focusing and keeping things simple’ will take me a long way. He appreciated my bowling too. I asked him a lot of questions,” the 23-year-old said.

“He is a tough taskmaster. He will make you learn things. During the session, he used to observe me and write down pointers in his notebook and then guided me after the spells,” Nagwaswalla signed off.
