Virat Kohli led Indian side will lock horns with Joe Root led England side in the five-match Test series.
The recent Instagram story uploaded by Rishabh Pant showed the 23-year old Indian cricketer undertaking heavy drills in the gym sessions. In the short clip, he performed hand cartwheels and was even seen lifting weights and doing back-related exercises in the subsequent screening.
Pant had missed the three-day warm-up game against Select County XI as he was undergoing isolation after being tested on July 8. He joined the Indian team later in Durham.
India tour of England: Can Rishabh Pant shine in England?
Having done the impossible in Australia, the wicketkeeper-batsman has shown his capabilities now on foreign soil as well. Moreover, his last stint in England in 2018- 207 runs from four matches, including a century at the Oval also give confidence for this young gun to perform in the upcoming series.
Former England skipper Nasir Hussain believes that the number 6 batting position is just too high for Pant to bat.
“Of what I have seen of India, if England can get a par score in the first innings, with the seam-bowling resources they have, then they should be confident. Rishabh Pant at six in England is one place too high. India will have to find a new opener as Shubman Gill has been ruled out.”
