India vs Australia : Virat Kohli and records – be it making or breaking – go hand-in-hand. The Indian skipper is now on the verge of equalling Sachin Tendulkar’s record when he takes to field against Australia in the first ODI of the series.

The star batsman is just one century short of matching his idol Sachin Tendulkar in the number of ODI centuries against Australia.

As of now Tendulkar holds the record of most ODI tons (9) against Aussies in 70 innings, while Kohli has scored 8 tons in 38 innings.

Interestingly, Kohli is also tied at the top of the list with former Australian skipper, Ricky Ponting for most international tons across formats as a captain with 41 centuries. Hence, he will also have the chance to became the skipper with most tons in international cricket.

Notably, the Indian skipper is also the no.1 ODI batsman currently.
