India vs Eng 2nd ODI: India captain and ace batsman Virat Kohli received a warning from the umpire during the second ODI against England at Pune for running in the ‘danger zone’ of the pitch while taking a single.

After flicking a delivery on to the leg side, Kohli ran straight down the middle of the pitch and only moved away to the side in the latter half of his run. The umpire let him know of his mistake.

Since this was the first transgression of this type in the match, the warning wasn’t official but more of an informal reminder. A second such act may lead to a final warning.

Kohli had to come into bat relatively early today due to the early dismissal of Shikhar Dhawan, in the fourth over itself. Not having scored an international century since August 2019, Kohli would be keen to get to three figures today. At the moment, he is looking well set for another good score.
