IND vs ENG, 1st Test: India’s middle-order continues to disappoint – India middle-order once again failed to do well in the opening Test in England, continuing their dismal run in England and overseas conditions. The likes of Virat Kohli, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane, and Rishabh Pant failed to cash in after KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma provided a perfect platform for India in their 1st innings.

While Cheteshwar Pujara (4) and India captain Virat Kohli (0) departed cheaply in the same over off James Anderson, Ajinkya Rahane got run out for just 5 runs. Rishabh Pant also threw his wicket for 25 runs. Put together, the middle-order contributed just 34 runs in the first innings for India.

IND vs ENG, 1st Test: Notably, Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane are out of form and need to come up with some match-defining performances. Rahane and Pujara had scored their last fifties in the 7th and 9th innings respectively. Virat Kohli, on the other hand, has failed to score a century since November 2019. Can they overcome their lean patch and come on top in England in the remaining innings in England? Follow us at insidesport.co to find out
