New series. New look. And, New Sponsors. That’s how India and South Africa start their campaign at Dharamshala’s picturesque Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium tomorrow (Sunday).
While warming up for the challenge ahead, both the teams have completed an important ritual for their respective sponsors, whose names the teams will support on their jerseys during the three-T20 International and three-Test series, to be played between September 15 and October 23.

The logo of Oppo, the sponsor of the Indian national team till the ICC World Cup 2019, has been dropped on the Indian cricket team’s jersey as the Chinese smartphone brand had made an abrupt exit from the deal, passing on the contract to India’s leading and fastest-growing digital learning application Byju’s.
InsideSport.co was the first to report that Byju’s will replace Oppo as the Indian cricket team sponsor.
Skipper Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and head coach Ravi Shastri completed the formalities of introducing the jersey with the new sponsor’s name in a curated backdrop with the BCCI and Byju’s logos.
South Africa, who have signed with India’s leading brand AMUL only for the ongoing tour, though opted for the backdrop of Shivalik Hills and colourful HPCA stadium as the team lined up with their new jerseys in hand. It was more informal than the highly professional Indian team.
The lemon-coloured jerseys have Amul prominently inscribed on the back, right above the player’s numbers.
There is an interesting factor that connects the BCCI-Byju’s-South Africa-Amul dots. The deals have been facilitated by ITW Mediaworx. The South Africa-Amul deal may further be extended for a longer term, Insidesport.co has learnt.
