India vs Sri Lanka: Ventakesh Prasad was amongst the many fans and pundits alike who showered their praises on Deepak Chahar following his heroics in Colombo. Prasad revealed that Chahar was asked to explore other career options by Greg Chappell during his stint with the Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA). The former Indian pacer used the story as a reminder for everyone to belive in themselves and suggested that a lot more faith should be put on Indian coaches and mentors.

And he single handedly won a match with not even his primary skills. Moral of the story- Believe in yourself and don’t take overseas coaches too seriously. There are off-course exceptions but with such wonderful talent in India, it’s time that teams and franchisees consider having Indian coaches and mentors as much as possible.”
