India Women tour of EnglandLeft-arm spinner Rajeshwari Gayakwad was left out of the India squad for the India women tour of England. She is recovering from an injury that she sustained during the South Africa tour of India earlier this year. Meanwhile, she is currently recovering from COVID-19, as per a report.

Rajeshwari Gayakwad tested positive for COVID-19 last month and recovering in Bengaluru, confirmed ESPNCricinfo. There was no official announcement during the SA series or afterwards regarding her injury. No official announcement was made regarding Rajeshwari Gayakwad’s exclusion while naming the UK-bound India women squad.

India Women tour of England- It is believed that she would have picked an injury or illness. Rajeshwari Gayakwad has been one of the top performers for India against South Africa in the home series. She was the highest wicket-taker in the five-match ODI series, picking as many as 8 wickets and won Player in the 3rd and final ODI.

A number of players, including Sachin Tendulkar, S Badrinath, Yusuf Pathan, Vanitha VR, and Harmanpreet Kaur had earlier tested positive for coronavirus as India reports over 3 lakh cases every single day.

Meanwhile, India women will assemble at Mumbai and undergo a couple of weeks of quarantine before flying to the UK on June 2 along with India men’s cricket team. They will play under newly appointed coach Ramesh Powar.
