As the IPL Auction 2020 got over on a chilly winter evening of December 19, everyone saw a bowler emerging on the top taking home a whopping amount of ₹15.5 crores for a single season. But as the pundits of the game say, T20 is a batsman game and therefore the year on year salaried contracts are dominated by the batsmen.
For the first time ever in the 13 years of the league, an overseas players has been able earn a ₹ 15-crore salary contract following the ₹ 15.5 crore winning bid by Kolkata Knight Riders for Pat Cummins.

The two-time world cup winning southpaw from Punjab has been one of the big earners in the Indian Premier League. He has also against his name the second-highest bid for an IPL player.
- Ben Stokes
The big Ben in his very first year of Indian Premier League announced his arrival after impressive performances in the International arena. Ben Stokes was picked up by Rising Pune Supergiant in 2017 shocking the world with a ₹14.5 crores bid. The 2017 became the best season for Supergiant as they finished second in the league.
