Ace sprinter Dutee Chand is willing to sell her BMW car. Dutee is willing to sell her car to meet her training expenses. Dutee took to social media and posted the pictures of her Luxury BMW seeking prospective buyers for it. However, she later deleted the post. Dutee owns a BMW 3-series model, which she bought from Telangana in 2018 for Rs 30 lakh. Now, she wants to sell it for Rs 20 lakh.
Dutee before deleting the pictures of her car on her Facebook page with a message in Odia – “I want to sell my BMW car. If anyone wants to buy, contact me on messenger.”
“I don’t have money for my training expense. It is now difficult to get sponsors due to COVID-19 pandemic for my training for Tokyo Olympics. I need money for my fitness expenses and training in Germany. But no sponsor is coming forward which is why I decided to sell my luxury car,” Dutee told InsideSport.
The Government had granted Rs 50 lakh for her training for Tokyo Olympics, she said, she spends around Rs 5 lakh a month on her training which includes salaries of coach, physiotherapists, dietician and other purposes. According to Indian sprint queen, entire preparations for Tokyo Olympics has now gone waste due to Covid19 pandemic and she has to train once again from scratch. Dutee also said that she tried reaching state government for support once again but they said they themselves are going through fund crunch.
“Even (State) Government people are saying they are going through a financial crunch. Since I have two other cars with me, also there is not enough space for 3 cars at my Residence, so I want to sell one and fund my expense on my own”
The sprinter clocked a blistering 11.22 seconds in the first semi-finals, obliterating her previous record of 11.26 seconds. Dutee had brought many laurels for country including Asian Games medals. Most recently she had broken the national record at the National Open Athletics in Ranchi in October 2019.
